Week 3 - Master Bedroom

The Master Bedroom is the most intimate room in the house! A room that the King and Queen of the castle can retreat to for private talks, the putting on of beautiful clothes and hopefully restful sleep!

This is a  place where others (even children) should have to knock before entering because it is private. Privacy is not always about intimate relations but also about respect for others. Teaching people how you want to be treated is important. It is your special room and it is ok to want it to be special and to make it special.

This should be the one place where work stops. Even if your office is in your room, make a cutoff time for when work and screens are no longer allowed to keep going, preferably at least one hour before bedtime. This is a great time for "pillow talk" or to read a book before bed. There are lots of studies that indicate better sleep when screens are shut off prior to going to sleep.

This is also where you might keep the things that are most important to you. If that is the case, make sure that you actually have the space for those things. An untidy room can really interfere with sleep. It may be better to find another space in the house for some of those things.

Week 3 - Master Bedroom Cleaning List

Our DAILY cleaning in the Master Bedroom should be making your bed and picking up after ourselves.

Our WEEKLY cleaning should consist of Washing the sheets, Cleaning, Folding and Putting away the laundry, Sweeping or Vacuuming the floor and taking out the trash.

But DEEP CLEANING  is when we take an area and go deeper! So, if you are doing your regular daily and weekly cleanups then on this week you can go deeper by going through things and cleaning things like your dresser tops and ceiling fans.

Just work 15 minutes at a time! You might be really surprised at how much cleaning actually needs to be done in here. Most of the bedrooms I have seen are simply full of stuff that needs to be moved out!

~ Wash ALL bedding (sheets, mattress cover, blankets, pillows, NOT memory foam pillows)

~ Clean ceiling fan/ light fixtures

~ Clean off  bench or chair

~ Clean off the dresser top

~ Sort through drawers (1 at a time)

~ Dust the dresser

~ Sort through the nightstands

~ Dust the nightstands

~ Clean off the desk

~ Dust the desk

~ Clean window

~ Clean the blinds or curtains

~ Shake out throw rugs

~ Clean floor under the rugs (Mop or Vacuum)

Now, ONLY 1 THING AT A TIME  and ONLY FOR 15 MIN!

You've got this! I love it when this week rolls around! It gives me so much energy to keep going on my goals! And the freedom is amazing!!

Let's do this together!!
